For decades the industry has struggled to assign ways to measure Precision and execute haircuts Accurately and Consistenly Everytime. HSE considered all aspects of the haircutting process and challenge in designing the final patented device - The-Comb.
After trial and error using various designs which failed (the original prototype made out of Balsa Wood), the design team came up with the final, optimal tool which allowed for ease of use, consistency and interchangeability. The final patented tool design uses the base configuration of the 0°, 45° and 90° but also allows for the full range of possible angles (15°, 30°, 60°, etc. ,for example) a creative stylist trained in our system can use to design haircuts.

The tool has inspired innovation incorporating visual mathematics and reinforcing the key principles of precision haircutting - Design, Architecture, Engineering, and Building - principles unique to our enhanced education.
The HSE Education Team continues to trail blaze by bringing new concepts to improve skills, to elevate the haircutting profession. We have begun incorporating the same mathematical principles to other hair related disciplines - hairstyling, hair coloration and finishing techniques- reducing their complexity and making them easy to learn once the stylist is grounded in our foundational principles.
